In recent years, the progress in medical care and health sciences has been tremendous. A major reason for this progress has been the marriage of two important disciplines: Medicine and Engineering. No doubt that cooperation between these two disciplines has achieved excellent results especially in such fields as Neurology and Cardiology.

Program Objectives

The program aims to train and develop an efficient and dedicated cadre of technicians in Biomedical Engineering. These technicians can contribute to the development and promotion of medical services in Saudi Arabia and play an efficient role in the over all health care system.

The curriculum contents introduced in this diploma provide the students with the knowledge and necessary skills to understand the nature of biomedical equipments and how to repair and maintain them properly.

Practical Training

Students begin the practical training for one full semester in the Biomedical Engineering maintenance and services section of the participating hospitals and medical centers. The students will be posted in rotation in different specialty so that they are exposed to a wide spectrum of medical instrumentation (repair and maintenance). 

Job Responsibilities after graduation

After successful completion of the required courses, the graduate from this program will be able to accomplish his duties of repairing and maintaining the biomedical equipments. Furthermore, he will be capable to apply updated scientific knowledge and sophisticated technologies in the biomedical engineering field.
